Ban on flavored Tobacco?

Postby mleebo » Tue Sep 22, 2009 6:35 am

trying to figure out if this makes any sense at all... the FDA is warning tobacco companies that they are only allowed to manufacture and sell non flavored tobacco and menthol cigarettes. WTF? I could care less about flavored tobacco... but it's just so odd.

I have deduced a conspiracy theory about this lol. Most of the big tobaccco producers (camel, marlboro and such) only have menthol and regular flavored tobacco. Notice menthol is coneniently left out of the regulation. I bet they having been lobbying like crazy to make this happen. Its going to cut out all the other smaller brands like swisher sweets who only make these flavored cigars and cigarettes.
Cut out a big part of the market by making their product illegal. Its also funny that the FDA is worried about flavors rather than additives such as nicotine and rat poison.

well everything is about kids. banning billboards around schools, limiting what type of businesses can be within a mile of schools. But your theory makes a lot of sense.
